Homemade Amritsari Pindi Chole Recipe

Hello food enthusiasts! Today, I’m going to share with you a delightful recipe for Amritsari Pindi Chole. This dish is a popular North Indian delicacy known for its rich and spicy flavours. So, let’s dive right into it!

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams of chole (chickpeas)
  • 2 finely chopped onions
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger-garlic paste
  • 4 chopped tomatoes
  • 2 green chilies, slit in between or chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of Seasonal Souvenirs Amritsari Pindi Chole masala
  • Half a teaspoon of jeera (cumin) powder
  • Half teaspoon of Kashmiri Lal Mirch (red chili powder)
  • 2-3 cloves of finely chopped garlic

Instructions:
1. Pre-boil your chole in a pressure cooker. Don’t discard the excess water as it will be used while cooking.
2. Add 4-5 tablespoons of oil in a pan. Once the oil heats up, add the onions and let them cook for 2-4 minutes until they turn golden brown.
3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for another 2 minutes.

4. Add the chopped tomatoes and mix well. Cover your vessel and let the tomatoes cook for about 5-6 minutes on medium flame.
5. Once the tomatoes are cooked, add salt according to taste and 2 tablespoons of Seasonal Souvenirs Amritsari Pindi Chole Masala. Let it cook for another 3-4 minutes.
6. Now add your pre-cooked chole to the paste along with the water from boiling.And there you have it! Your homemade Amritsari Pindi Chole is ready to be served and enjoyed. This dish is perfect with Bhature (deep-fried bread) or rice. Enjoy this hearty meal with your loved ones!
